Anyone have old articles on Looks mattering?

Like before the 1900's. I would like to see what peoples opinions were on looks, specifically male looks and how they contributed to ones life way back in the day. Anyone know where i could find some of these articles or documents, i have no idea where to look, i know some of them have to exist.

Probably close to none, I wouldn't even look. Society back then was much less degenerate, men lived happily with their looksmatch.
